Fatal Orlando Crash on SR-528 Near Universal Boulevard Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Orlando, FL (May 25, 2026) – A deadly single-vehicle crash along State Road 528 near Universal Boulevard in Orlando claimed the life of one man and left a female passenger injured early Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 4:37 a.m. following reports of a serious rollover collision.
Troopers said the driver of a Honda Civic traveled off the roadway to the right, where the vehicle struck a light pole and multiple trees before overturning. The impact caused severe damage to the car and prompted a large emergency response in the area.
Authorities identified the driver as a 23-year-old man from Hawaii. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 20-year-old woman from Pennsylvania who was riding as a passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Officials have not yet released additional details regarding what may have caused the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
